. . . never forget why God wants to prosper you. It is true that He “giveth us richly all things to enjoy,” 1 Timothy 6:17. But more important than that, is the truth that He wants us to “do good, to be rich in good works, ready to distribute, and willing to share,” 1 Timothy 6:18. God blesses us so we might be a blessing to other people; that is the fundamental reason why you should want to prosper. This attitude will not only get you rich, but it will ensure that your riches do not get wings to fly away. If you remember the “Governor Bank of Uganda” dream that I shared in Chapters 1 and 5, God was considering trusting me with abundant wealth for the reason that I was not seeking it just for myself but for the motive of generosity.

I know that God highly regards my giving, that is why in some dreams people have received from Him, He has typified me as one who should be imitated. Among such people are Mariam Kitunzi Kalibbala and Vivien Patricia Ssanyu, who have permitted me to share their dreams, in the hope that you too will know that by liberality and openhandedness you will not only never lack, but you will stay prosperous.

Vivien’s dream on the 11th of February 2014: Moses was giving out candies to a number of people who were in a queue. He kept on giving nonstop to the people. I realized that the more candies he gave out, the more candies he got. At the point when I thought they would run out, I asked him if he was going to put aside some for his daughters; then he set aside like two, as he continued giving to the people. At one point, I began imitating him – I too started giving out candies, and surprisingly I was also not running out of candies to give.

Mariam’s dream on the 12th of November 2014: I saw Moses preaching at Prophet Elvis Mbonye’s Zoe Fellowship. He told the congregation that he had had a dream in which God handed him a huge blank cheque. In the dream I saw him holding it – it was a huge dummy blank cheque. After asking us what the dream meant, he went on to tell us that it symbolized a lot of money God was going to give him. Afterward, He said to me, “In order to receive a financial reward like mine, do what I do – give.” Then the dream ended.

How to be a blessing to other people is diverse, the options are many. As led by the Spirit, you can give food to the hungry, educate the improvised, clothe the naked, and the list goes on.

(Other than the title, this article is entirely from my book FINANCIAL PROSPERITY: Breaking the Back of Poverty).

God bless you.
