At the start of every year, there is always an inexplicable energy in the atmosphere that gives people resolve to achieve their goals. How this energy comes about is a mystery. The sad thing about this energy is that it appears to dissipate as February draws nigh. Allow me to offer advice on how you can maximize that energy while it remains, so that, throughout the months that follow, you can maintain the resolve to achieve all that you have set out to achieve.
My advice is simple and very basic: use the beginning of the year energy to wait on the LORD. There is no better way to start anything, (in this case the year), than with the resolve to seek the LORD; to wait on Him. Jesus is referred to as the alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet; He is the beginning. If we really desire to have a fruitful year, we must begin it with Mr. Alpha - Mr. Beginning Himself. God set in motion everything that now is. Therefore, if we are to bring forth anything of significance this year, we have to place God first; we must resolve to wait on Him at the start of the year.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:30, 31)
Youthfulness is the stage of life at which physical strength peaks. But the Bible says that even youths shall utterly fall. A wise person can become foolish. A rich man or woman can end up poor. Kings often times become slaves, and many mighty have been turned into captives.
The only people who can never fall, who actually get stronger and soar higher with each new day are those who wait on the LORD. You see, God does not change; Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. When you wait on the LORD, you are drawing closer to the Eternal. Therefore, you can neither fall nor stagnate when you purpose to wait on Him. Waiting on God always has the resultant effect of being infused with the eternal life of God, the life that never ends; and that life will enable one to stay strong, and to soar higher.
Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! (Psalms 27:14)
God bless you.
