Some years ago, I watched a very entertaining football match. It was between two rival clubs, Arsenal and Manchester United. Although Arsenal lost the game 0 - 2, Sir Alex Ferguson, the then manager of Manchester United, acknowledged that for the lovers of football, the match was one of its kind - an epic thriller.
I remembered Ferguson's words on Sunday. For the lovers of Spirit-inspired and anointed worship, last Sunday was one of its kind. We had a very powerful praise and worship session at church as the singers led by Juliana and the instrumentalists led by Albert ushered in the presence of God. I could not but feel sad for several who failed to make it for the service. It was wonderful.
Those who know me know how I love worshipping God and how I strive to ensure that God receives the best of it from us. I know great worship when I hear it, so you have to believe me when I say that last Sunday was one of its kind. It was great; God was so blessed, and His children did bask in His presence. Many hours after the service, I could not stop telling those I was with how wonderful the praise and worship had been. I also continually thanked God for the blessing that Juliana is and for the anointing that is upon Albert and the entire team. A day later, on Monday, I was still experiencing the presence of God that was manifest in the service.
It seems to me that there is a fresh anointing of worship that has come upon us as LAT, for even the previous Sunday was 'different' and beautiful. Prior to that, Sandra T. Kimenyi had a dream in which even the worship from our children's church was 'a fragrant offering, well-pleasing to the Lord'.
This we must maintain, by the grace of God. We must always remind ourselves that Jesus began LAT, and we meet only because of Him - to glorify His name. With that kind of heart, everything we do will be for and because of Him. Even our praise and worship will not be to entertain or to fill time or to show-off skill; rather, it will be to bless the heart of our Master, Jesus. That way, everything about us will have the touch of the anointing and the presence of God, the same we had last Sunday.
God bless you.
