The Christmas season is here again! We all know that the origins of this day are pagan and evil. Therefore, there are demonic spirits which believe they own this day. That is why sin peaks during this period. If you wanted to learn how to steal, the Christmas season would be the ideal school. Everyone wants money to celebrate Christmas. Sadly, many resort to stealing from others and from their workplaces. Many business owners not only offer substandard goods and services during the Christmas season but also employ evil marketing tactics. They also unnecessarily hike prices. This is theft and extortion.

Unfortunately, preachers also become thieves at Christmas. Instead of being beacons of the light of righteousness, they turn into messengers of unrighteousness, manipulating people to give “to the Lord” so that they get money to live large at Christmas.

These things should not be so for Christians who want Christmas to be for Christ Jesus. We should not give in to the devil who believes he owns that day. As Christians, we should redeem the Christmas season back to God by resisting sin and living righteously. Preachers should honor the Shepherd of Christmas by not abusing His sheep. At Christmas, all of us should live for Christ as real Christians.

Probably the most commonly read Scripture at Christmas is: “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-7). We learn from this passage that our ‘Christmas Child’ was born to reign over a kingdom for which He is returning soon to establish on the earth. At the same time, we need to remember that the unrighteous will not be allowed into that kingdom (Matthew 7:21-23, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Ephesians 5:5-7, Galatians 5:19-21). Therefore, if you really want to honor Christ at Christmas, then do so righteously as one fit to be part of His coming kingdom.

God bless you.
