All Christians know Jesus as rich, and rightly so because by Him and for Him were all things created in heaven and on earth, Colossians 1:16. But without sounding blasphemous I want to submit to you that Jesus is also poor and He needs our help. We need to recognize both the rich Jesus and the poor one and relate appropriately with each manifestation of the same one true Jesus.

Before you pick stones to throw at me let me quote you the words of poor Jesus from Matthew 25:35-36: "I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." He then elaborated saying, ". . . assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren you did it to Me," Matthew 25:40. Right there is evidence of a poor needy Jesus who still walks amongst us. This poor Jesus is someone who God has assigned you to help. If you sense that you're called to be their rescue, give the necessary help knowing you are doing it to Jesus. Assuredly I say unto you, you shall not miss the reward of obedience.

Now that you're comfortable with me, let me mess you up again by saying that there is a big reward for also giving to rich Jesus. I do not know which demon engineered the deception that giving must only be to the poor. Actually there are times when if you give to the poor and ignore the Voice telling you to give to someone who is sufficiently or abundantly supplied, you will be in disobedience. A lady once anointed Jesus with a designer perfume that some estimate to have been worth a year's salary. When some objected saying it should have been spent on the poor, rich Jesus did not agree. He said, "The poor you have with you always but not Me" John 12:8, implying there is time for the rich to also be given and not the poor. So when God tells you to give to the rich, please do so. For in doing that you are doing it unto rich Jesus who will bless you back according to His glorious riches.

Please discern the form Jesus appears to you and entertain Him accordingly. Treat Him rich when He comes as rich, and aid Him when He appears as one requiring support. Recognise Him among the poor and bless them, remembering that He who gives to the poor lends to God and He shall pay him back, Proverbs 19:17. But also do not miss Him when He walks in looking expensive and classy. An already rich Abram (later Abraham) who was destined to super-increase in wealth was told, "Those who bless you I will bless," Genesis 12:3. That means that if you bless a man God has made rich the blessing that made him that way will likewise be activated in your life.

Please feed the poor, but also give the rich a treat. Clothe the naked, but also buy designer outfits for the wealthy. Visit the sick and imprisoned, but also facilitate a luxurious vacation for the affluent. Basically, there is a time and season for everything. There is a season to take care of poor Jesus, and there is also a season to spoil rich Jesus. When to bless who requires you to walk closely with God so you can discern the times so you know what to do.

God bless you.
