On 2nd November 2000, the Lord revealed to me my life purpose using 1 Chronicles 22:5 which says that, “The house of the Lord to be built must be of great magnificence and fame and splendor (glory) in the sight of all the nations.” The house He was referring to is the church Last Adam Tabernacle (LAT) that is now being built spiritually. We as LAT are therefore called to be glorious, among other things, and my assignment as a pastor is to ensure that we indeed become glorious.
As we studied last week, the best place to find the definition of a glorious church (which we are called to become), is Ephesians 5:25-27: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” Therefore, by LAT being called to be glorious, means that God expects us to be holy and to walk in holiness. This we shall achieve when I teach and preach, together with all the ministers in our church, the unadulterated word of God, for as we have read in Ephesians 5, it is by this word that the Lord cleanses us.
Being a pastor of God’s people is a tremendous responsibility for which I will one day give account to God. Depending on what I teach and preach, I can be the reason why some church members will go to heaven, and why others will end up in hell. I must therefore know that my number one calling is to get to heaven the flock of God under my care. I must imitate the Lord Jesus in this. It is Him who prayed to the Father saying: “Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition” (John 17:12). The Lord ensured that none of the followers God had given Him would get lost eternally because of Him. Paul also had the same attitude concerning the churches he established. He knew he was responsible for where they ended up. This he clearly expressed in Philippians 2:14-16: “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”
I have decided that I will preach the unadulterated word of God to equip you to walk in holiness, so that corporately we become the glorious holy church that God has called us to be, the type of church that will be presented as the bride of Christ at His coming. As you are aware, without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). If anyone gets eternally lost, may God never judge me as an accomplice.
Concerning all of you, “I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin, (holy), to Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:2).Therefore, “brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (made holy and cleansed by the unadulterated word of His grace)” (Acts 20:32).
Amen.
