If I was to revise my book “Financial Prosperity – Breaking the Back of Poverty”, I would give more emphasis to the chapter ‘Love Never Fails’ than I did. Since 2016 when I wrote that book, my understanding of the Scriptures has significantly increased regarding several topics, among which is the relationship between walking in love (obeying God’s commandments; John 14:21) and financial prosperity.
The curse that ushered poverty into the earth was a result of the disregarding of God’s commandment by Adam (Genesis 3:17-19). The prosperity of the children of Israel upon entering the Promised Land was premised on their obedience of God’s commandments. The prophet Moses told his brethren that, “All these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God . . . The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand . . . You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow,” (Deuteronomy 28:2, 8, 12). It is in that same vein that David wrote saying, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).

Financial Prosperity Book LaunchedWhen God walked the earth in the person of Jesus Christ, He did not change that which He had earlier established, that walking in godliness (obedience to His commandments) yields material blessings. For He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (godly living), and all these things (food, drink, clothing) shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). That is why years later Paul wrote saying that, “Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is,” (1 Timothy 4:8). Peter the apostle couldn’t have agreed more when he quoted the psalmist saying, “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:10-12).
Therefore, since “blessings (financial and otherwise) are on the head of the righteous (godly) (Proverbs 10:6),” it is to our earthly advantage that we live not according to the standards of this wicked age, but according to the word of God that is in all our Bibles.
God bless you.
