Just before the recently concluded Kenya Presidential elections, I watched a video of a preacher publicly giving William Ruto, (now President-elect), a prophecy that he would win the election. The preacher went on to say that God had allowed the fallout of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Vice President William Ruto to happen so that when Ruto becomes president, he would know that it was not man (Kenyatta) who made him President, but God.

I believe that this is also God’s will for you His child. God intends to make you great, and He will do so in such a manner that no honest person can take the glory for it by saying that they made you great.

When Abram (later called Abraham) returned from the slaughter of the kings who had taken his nephew Lot captive, the king of Sodom said to him, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’” (Genesis 14:21-23). Although God on different occasions used people to bless Abraham with riches, it was actually the blessing of God that made Abraham rich. For it is written: “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich” (Proverbs 10:22). When God first called Abraham, He told him that, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great” (Genesis 12:2). Therefore, the people who either willingly or unwillingly contributed to Abraham’s greatness and riches were simply pawns in God’s hands. And because it was God who made Abraham great and rich, it is him who will also make you a child of Abraham great and rich. Therefore put your trust in God and not man, and do not allow anyone to hold you at ransom. As one hymn goes, “The arm of flesh will fail you.” “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” (Psalm 75:6-7).

God bless you.
