As mentioned last week, I am reading the Bible cover to cover. At the time of this writing, I am reading the book of Isaiah, in which can be found some of the greatest promises for the future.
Jesus is coming back, and that very soon. When He returns, and begins to reign as King in Jerusalem, the once elusive worldwide peace will prevail and military schools shall shutdown (Isaiah 2:4). All animals, including snakes, will live harmoniously with man and with each other (Isaiah 11:6 - 9). That is the same period that John prophetically saw, when an angel "Laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more, " Revelations 20:2 - 3.
Realizing how wonderful Jesus’ reign will be ought to make us all cry, "O Lord come!" (1 Corinthians 16:22).
Among the many things Jesus is bringing is peace, and this peace He want us to start experiencing even now. Because His Kingdom is within us, peace, with which God crushes Satan under our feet, should be our daily experience (Luke 17:21, Romans 16:20). Also, as far as your relationships with people are concerned, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men," Romans 12:18.
If you, like me, are earnestly looking forward to Jesus’ return, you can actually hasten His coming. By living holy and godly lives, we are speeding His return (2 Peter 3:11, 12).
Jesus is saying, "Behold, I am coming quickly!" (Revelation 22:7, 12). We His bride, just like the Holy Spirit, should whole-heartedly respond by saying, "Come!" (Revelations 22:17).
Maranatha - O Lord, come!
