A few years ago, in a dream, someone told me the approximate number of years left before the rapture. Days after that experience, a little girl I know dreamt she was taken up to heaven and she too was told by an angel the same number of years left before our Jesus comes to take us home.

Whether or not the above-mentioned dreams were of God, there is still overwhelming evidence that we are in the final hour. If you are not yet convinced by the many clear signs of the Lord’s return, at least believe Him when He said, "I am coming quickly," (Revelations 22:7).

After the rapture and our less than a decade long stay in heaven, we shall return to Earth to rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years. The question though, is: Will you be one of the kings? Will you be assigned a throne? You see, we will not all be equal! The same way Christians today are graced with varying degrees of spiritual authority, so it shall be in that day, in the millennial reign of Christ. The difference, however, is that in this present dispensation, authority is based on predestined callings, whereas in the millennium it will be a reward for faithful service.

Every one of us is called to reign now, in Jesus’ life which has been bestowed on us (Romans 5:17). But it is not a given that all will reign with Christ in the age to come.

"And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment (authority to rule) was committed to them . . . And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years," Revelations 20:4 teaches. That is what Paul worked towards, it is what became his earnest desire and pursuit, as he wrote in Philippians 3:14: "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Then in verse 15, he advises you and I: "Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind."

Attaining to the great honor of receiving a throne to reign with Christ is for whoever desires and works towards it. It is for those who will first and foremost discover the will of God for their lives, and then wholly give themselves to fulfilling that purpose with pure hearts. In fact, if right now, in God’s valuation you are excelling at your calling and gifting, the spirit world recognizes you as a king, though it might not appear so in the natural. That means those who will sit on the "Revelation 20:4 thrones" to reign with Christ are already doing so now.

In humility, I will tell you this: I am among those NOW reigning, and I WILL reign with Jesus for all eternity. Also, because I am not selfish, I call you to join me and others who are intent to receive thrones. It all starts and ends by fulfilling God’s will for your life in a Godly way. If you are maturing in Christ, you should have that attitude or ambition; to receive the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14, 15). That prize is to sit on His throne, reigning with and as Him in the age to come. Nothing will ever compare to that.

God bless you fellow king.
