For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Few things engage my thoughts like the knowing that there is a life hereafter, and that there is an inescapable day coming up:  the judgment day of believers. How you and I live now will determine how good or bad that day will be for us, and how low or great we shall live thereafter.

I believe that every person who has put their faith in Jesus Christ will make it to heaven. They will not go to hell. This firm belief is informed by Ephesians 2:8,9 which says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith . . . not of works." However, just because works have never saved anybody, does not mean they are of no importance. In fact, at the judgment day of believers, those works will be the main issue.

I always urge Christians to read Rick Joyner’s book The Final Quest. I believe no person ever remains the same after thoroughly reading that book. In it, Rick Joyner documents the terror of God (2 Corinthians 5:11) believers who wasted their lives experienced before the judgment seat of Christ. Of course, the book also chronicles the joys of many who received from Jesus a hearty "well done good and faithful servant."

God spoke to me sometime ago saying, "If you want to be great in heaven, master The Final Quest." I believe He is saying the same thing to you right now - master and live by that book, The Final Quest. Reading it, I learnt that on the judgment day, I will only be rewarded for what I did out of obedience, not simply what I did. That means, at all times, we must ensure that what we are involved in is the perfect will of God for our lives. Joyner also highlighted the motives behind the works - why are we doing what we are doing? For on that day of judgment, the secrets of our hearts are going to be revealed (1 Corinthians 4:5).

Heaven is real, and for all believers in Jesus, it is a sure destination. Even so, believers appearing before the judgment seat of Christ is a "must happen" event. My advice to you on how to prepare for it is this:

      1) Read (again) Rick Joyner’s book, The Final Quest,

      2) Do what God tells you to do,

      3) Have the right and Godly motives for doing all that you do, and

      4) Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance (Colossians 3:23,24).

For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:10 - 12).

God bless you.
