On 31st August 2017, LAT will be making three years. This important milestone will be celebrated this Sunday. Dr. James Magara, a great servant of God who for decades has been a huge blessing to Uganda and the Church, will be our guest of honor. Some of our friends who are leaders in the body of Christ will, by their attendance, grace that day.
LAT is a great church, “last but first”, small but big – a big deal in heaven. This I say, not because I am the Pastor but because of the numerous "too good to be true" commendations that have come from God regarding our devotion and service unto Him. Some of these have been shared publicly during church gatherings, however, some are too sensitive even to be said on the pulpit, like the dream that came a few days ago on Sunday morning. I am telling you, we ain’t seen nothing yet!
Numerically, we have not grown as most expected on 31st August 2014 when we held our first service. This is probably because the Pastor of LAT is not a politician and did not take classes in Public Relations, Marketing, Advertisement and Hype. It could also be because he is not nice; he chases away people. All the above could be true causes of the slow growth, but it seems to me that what actually matters to God is quality and how quantity is achieved. One day, every Preacher and Pastor is going to stand before the Lord to be judged on why and how they did whatever they accomplished. That thought alone is, according to me, the number one reason why LAT is a “ka-small LAT”, to quote one of our dear members.
But despite the small numbers, we are highly regarded in heaven. So much has been deposited in our midst as most of you know. A spirit of excellent worship joined to work with us, Bishop David Oyedepo “anointed”, the Copelands "visited", Apostle Joseph Serwadda did the needful, and just last Sunday, in a dream, another marvellous thing happened. The list is endless.
So, as we celebrate our third anniversary, let us be mindful to thank the Lord for how good He has been to us. That LAT even exists today is in itself a miracle. Just after we made one year, in a dream, God revealed how some Christians were attempting to wipe LAT off the face of the earth. That was disheartening of course, yet at the same time encouraging; because for God to expose such a work and its architects meant that LAT was dear to Him. We are (part of) His Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against us as long as we hold Him as our all in all.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have so much to thank God for. We thank Him for not only what I have mentioned above, but also for paying all our bills and paying them on time. We thank Him for good health, financial prosperity and wonderful relationships. We thank Him for our worship team. We thank Him for Joan Isoke who leads us in prayer, not forgetting her husband Sam who had the last word on their joining LAT. We thank Him for Dr. Dennis Mugimba the dreamer of dreams, (Deuteronomy 13:1). We thank Him for Rachel, the best administrator in the whole world.
And I the Pastor, thank God for all of you members. Together with you, we have done a great job for the One many of you have never seen yet love, Jesus our Lord. Most (not all) of you have given sacrificially, availed yourself to pray, sacrificed time (especially the Worship Team) and you have listened to me by reading your Bibles and Rick Joyner's book, The Final Quest. To be honest, I thank God for you. You are my joy and crown. However, the time to be nice to you has not yet come, and it might never. But keep seeing me in the future, looking much better than I look right now.
I pray to God that we shall never become lukewarm. Let us continue to maximize His grace by serving and worshipping Him wholeheartedly. Let us continue to seek and do only His will. May we never become politicians, marketing gurus, or hype experts.
We thank Him for this far He has helped us (1 Samuel 7:12), and we praise Him for where He is taking us next.
God bless you.
