A few years ago, I had a dream; in it, someone was telling me the approximate numbers of years left before Jesus’ return. I was hesitant to whole-heartedly believe the dream. A few days later, a child I know also had a dream; in it she was taken to heaven and told, by angels, the number of years that remained to have her heavenly mansion completed. Interestingly, it was the exact number of years I had been told in my dream.

Looking at the state the world is in right now, as viewed through the lenses of the Bible, it is clear we are rapidly winding up. For those who do not consider Jesus’ return as good news, the reality is worsened by the realization of where we are according to the ‘corrected’ Hebrew calendar.

Most of what is available on the internet says we are in the year 5778 of the Hebrew calendar; however there is further information suggesting an error of 240 years in this calendar. When that is factored in, it is suggested that we are in the year 6018. I can hear you asking, “What does that have to do with Jesus’ return?”

Well, first of all, I believe that God prophesied the end in the beginning (Isaiah 46:9,10), in the six days of creation that were followed by a seventh day of rest. Secondly, “with the Lord one day is as a thousand years” (2 Peter 3:8). Thirdly, according to Hebrews 4:9 NIV, “There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God,” into which Jesus will lead us just as Joshua led the Israelites into the rest of the Promised Land.

Now, if one day of creation was a prophecy of the corresponding thousand years to come, according to the ‘corrected’ Hebrew calendar it looks like we have already entered the seventh day or the Sabbath-rest of one thousand years. If that is true, it means we are doing business and living this life on borrowed time. This implies that Jesus’ second coming is imminent and far sooner than most of us expect.

It is written, “Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them,” (Matthew 17:1,2). Seeing that we are now at “after six days” (6018), we should expect to see Jesus in His glory even as we are caught up (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

For further evidence that Jesus is coming back very soon, let us study a passage in the Old Testament: “I will return again to My place till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight” (Hosea 5:15 – 6:1,2). Jesus came to His own Jewish people, but they rejected Him. He then returned to His place, heaven. A time of great tribulation is coming that will cause the Jews to seek Him who they rejected; He will respond and come to their rescue. When will that be? After two days. In the light of 2 Peter 3:8, Jesus is supposed to return 2000 years after He left. Do the math. Then He will raise them up, and they shall live in His sight, during the ‘third day’ which is also the seventh day, the Sabbath millennium.

These calculations give possible credibility to the dreams in which I and a young child were told the number of years left before Jesus’ return.

We all should rejoice, because Jesus is coming.
