Pastor Moses' Word for the Week

Love Your Way To Success

The recent Words for the Week have been about the need to discover and use our God given gifts for the benefit of the Kingdom of God and humanity. If we do that, we shall not only experience the joys of being a blessing, but also the rewards that come with faithfulness including abundant provision for all our needs. That being the case, we must not leave out the most important ingredient of all that makes everything else to work - love. Love is the most excellent way and it never fails, (1 Corinthians 12:31 and 13:8).

Last week we encouraged ourselves to use the indescribable gift of giving. The bible is clear that if we do that we shall see increase even financially. Using this subject of giving and receiving as an example, we see how love is the oil that makes the engine run, even for other areas of life. Proverbs 11:24 says, "There is one who scatters yet increases more, and there is one who withholds more than is right but it leads to poverty." However, 1 Corinthians 13:3 also says that without love giving profits nothing - it yields no fruit, even if you give away everything or even allow to burn as a martyr. Generosity not motivated by love is therefore useless and futile; and though it was inspired by love, if the contrary fills our hearts, harvest for what we sowed will never be realised. Right there is why some givers are broke and others live lives that testify that the Word of God is true.

Very often supernatural experiences are given to us for the purpose of illuminating the written Word of God, but not to establish doctrine. So I will briefly highlight a dream I once had and a vision Apostle John Eziel received. This will help us appreciate how alpha-and-omega love is, for God is love (1 John 4:8). In my dream ten years ago Joyce Meyer told me never to separate love and prosperity. As for my dear friend Apostle John, in a vision the persons of Prosperity, Wisdom, and Power all pointed him to their master Love without whom they cannot function. They all narrated how in vain many seek them, because they do not first get acquainted with Love. Now you understand why Paul told us, "Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]," 1 Corinthians 14:1 AMPC.

Even faith cannot work without love; for faith is energized by love, Galatians 5:6. The hand of faith that receives what grace has freely provided will always be made impotent by the absence of love. Moreso, if it's by faith that we please God (Hebrews 11:6), it means that we cannot please Him without love. Why? Because faith worketh by love. Actually I am just being hesitant to say that probably faith is not faith minus love.

So, get rid of bitterness, unforgiveness and all their cousins. That satanic horde is the surest road to failure. Walk in love, for love never fails. There is surely a very good reason why Jesus left us with the commandment to love one another as He loved us, John 13:34. Even in the old covenant, keeping the law was the prerequisite to prosperity, Deuteronomy 28:1,2. Love in this church age is the fulfilment of the law, Romans 13:8. Therefore if we obey to walk in love we shall eat the good of the land; the days of our lives will be filled with prosperity and our years with pleasures. Amen.

God willing we shall continue on this crème de la crème of commandments next week. In the meantime, start loving your way to success.

God bless you.
