Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me

We are in the season of preparing for the greater manifestation of prophetic gifts here at Last Adam Tabernacle (LAT). This greater manifestation of prophetic gifts that we are expecting has a similarity to what Prophet Elvis Mbonye demonstrates at his fellowships. As a church, we decided to take this route after Sandra Twesigomwe Kimenyi dreamt that Prophet Elvis was now going to be at Last Adam Tabernacle every Thursday which, to date, is a day we hold our prayer meetings.

Sandra's dream had several others preceding it, and only in their context can we really understand what God is getting ready to do in our midst. About five years ago, I dreamt when I looked exactly like Prophet Elvis. A year or so later, a workmate of mine then dreamt when Prophet Elvis was telling a crowd that he is going to raise up a man who will do everything that he can do. Immediately after that statement, he turned and pointed at me saying, “This is the man.” Then about three years ago, Prophet Paul Jaiser Samuel also dreamt when Prophet Elvis was telling people that, “By the way, what you do not know is that I and Moses are twins in the spirit.” That background therefore enables us to appreciate the message Sandra's dream entails. It is basically a sign of the beginning of a prophetic season that would subsequently identify me as one who can do everything Prophet Elvis Mbonye does. This operation will, however, not be mine alone, ministers like Prophet Paul and Apostle John will also do likewise just as they were told in a dream recently. We are, therefore, going to see and know the power of God at Last Adam Tabernacle like never before.

But, what is the reason or purpose for such authority from God? If we do not know why God gives power (of any sort) to people, we shall not only abuse it, but it will also destroy us. As a way of preparing for the spirit of Prophet Elvis every Thursday at Last Adam Tabernacle, I am deliberately meditating on the foundation for Godly power. Not known for being deep, I have for so sure discovered the basics in which if one is well grounded, then he or she will demonstrate the spiritual gifts (or other manifestations of Godly accord) that will bring glory to God.

Jesus told the disciples, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me . . .” Acts 1:8. That is the main reason for power - to be witnesses unto Jesus. It is not God telling others how great you and I are, no, it is Him using it to point to His Son Jesus Christ. So, in whatever place or position of influence God has stationed you, remember to represent Him well - let your words and actions cause people to be drawn to Jesus. And for all the goodness that He manifests through you, please never forget to give Him the glory.

The other basic purpose of power that is a derivative of the first one is what Jesus said about His own in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…..” In a nutshell He was saying that power is not for showbiz, but for the betterment of people's lives. It is for service, we should never forget that, otherwise we are destined for a great fall. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil,” Acts 10:38. We should imitate our Master by doing the best we can with His power. “I will bless (empower) you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing,” God told Abram in Genesis 12:2. Power then, without repetition, is for the objective of blessing others.

If you seek promotion in anything in this life without understanding what exaltation and influence is designed to achieve, you will live far below the expectations of God. Consequently, desire power for two reasons, which are, to be a witness unto Jesus and to help humanity out of Satan's oppression because if you do that, you will earnestly never fall; actually, you will then be entrusted with more of that burden destroying power.

God bless you.
