Upholding the reflection of His portrait
The prophetic ministry is growing in our country. However, what most genuine prophets plus the fake ones and their respective fans do not know is that there is something more glorious than just being a prophet. Soon or later you are going to meet a “much-more-than” prophet.
Before I explain what a “much-more-than” prophet is, we need to realize that this is what God requires of us in our different callings and assignments - to be much more than ordinary parents, employees, leaders, givers or whatever the case might be. We can add extra-ordinariness to our gifts and so be a greater blessing to people, thereby bringing God more pleasure. A worshipper can become one who worships in spirit and truth (John 4:24); givers can be joyful givers (2 Corinthians 9:7); beautiful babes can be of a meek and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4), leaders can be wise, loving their followers like Solomon (1 Kings 3:11-12), and the list goes on and on.
John the Baptist was not an ordinary prophet, and this is what our modern prophets should aspire for. Jesus said of him, “A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and MUCH MORE THAN a prophet,” Luke 7:26. The Baptist carried such a tremendous Presence and anointing that even with his toughness and ugly outfits, many were drawn to him to hear the word of the Lord. He was a prophet like no other because his only objective was to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus (Luke 7:27).
The day you start making Jesus the center of your life, doing everything for His name's sake is the moment heaven will single you out as a “much-more-than.” When you start spending time in His Presence, being transformed into the glory of God that you're beholding (2 Corinthians 3:18), that's when you will be distinguished from the ordinary people who are gifted like you.
At the risk of being misunderstood, I will tell you my number one reason for attending Prophet Elvis' fellowships. I am always mesmerized by his prophetic gift, but the greatest blessing for me is the glorious presence of God that he manifests. Frankly I do not know many prophets like him. You and I can also become like that. We can be filled with so much of the Spirit that our every word, action and demeanor has a touch of divinity, making a difference wherever we go. Your words can be seasoned with grace, and your presence can be of a beautifully scented aura. Believe me, these things are possible - only if you die to your carnality and start living for Jesus and Him alone.
We must really add value to what we are. Prophets can become like John the Baptist, or like Moses whose face often shined with the glory of God. Wives, be like Sarah who was submissive to Abraham, 1 Peter 3:5-6. Husbands, let us love our “chics”’ like Jesus loves, Ephesians 5:25. If you're rich, be much more than just that - be ready to distribute, willing to communicate (1 Timothy 6:17-18). Every calling we have can be seasoned with a priceless godly attribute.
Remember though that the godly touch that will turn you into a “much-more-than” is only accessed by single devotion to Jesus and beholding His glory. Only by those means will you be transformed to the status of extra-ordinariness. And when that happens, God will be magnified more in your life, and the people you have been assigned to will be greatly blessed.
God bless you.
