“Even the most glorious Promised Land would be a terrible place without Him (God),” wrote Rick Joyner in one of his books. This is a true statement worth pondering. We should come to a place in our spiritual growth when we know for certain that a Promised Land without God is not worth it, and it can cause us to eternally lose our souls. That is why our Lord Jesus said that, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).
God does not want us to forget Him when we receive the things that He promised and we wanted from Him. He would want that we enjoy those things together with Him. In fact, ideally those things, being signs of His love for us, should draw us closer to Him. Unfortunately, history testifies that people most often draw away from the Lord when “life is good” (and many come to Him in times of tragedy). But as for us, we should determine not to forget the Lord our God while we are in our Promised Land. This is the reason why we are currently studying about Jesus on Sunday. We do not want to lose Jesus because of fulfilled promises. Jesus is above all and everything. He is both God and Master. Therefore, we must give Him the rightful place in our lives. Remember, He is even able to give us more than He is giving us now – if we keep with Him.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 3:20-21).
God bless you.
