Follow the Shepherd and Not the Herd
On 30th August 2016, my friend Apostle John Enoch Eziel had a face to face encounter with Jesus in a dream where the Lord pleasantly boasted of Simeon, who held onto the promise that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ (Luke 2:26).
John was also told by the Lord in that same dream that I, Pastor Moses, have walked like Simeon, by faithfully holding onto God's promises until I see them fulfilled. Obviously the Lord was boasting of me too. Hallelujah!
Hebrews 6:12 says, “. . . imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” According to Jesus therefore, you dear reader should imitate me, or better still, take seriously what I need to say concerning promises and their fulfilment - or failure.
Every Word of God spoken unto you is supposed to come to pass, because He said, “My Word that goes forth from My mouth . . . shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it,” Isaiah 55:11.
“Why then, Pastor, do some promises fail?”
Well, first of all, there are promises whose time of fulfilment has not yet come. And when such have tarried for long it is tempting to think God's Word fell to the ground. I advise you therefore that before you trash any delayed promise, first consult He that promised.
“But Pastor ‘Simeon,’ there is that Word from God which I know for sure did not come to pass. What happened?”
My honest answer is that yes that happens sometimes. Using the illustration of marriage, there are numerous stories of individuals who were supposed to marry or get married to someone and the wedding (and marriage therefore) never materialised. For persons where it was for sure God told them, we have to understand that God did not create robots; every single one of us has a will which God cannot violate. He does the best to influence us towards choosing what He wants for us, but that is the farthest He can go. This principle applies to many other areas where God requires individuals to be part of “making” His promises come to pass. The good news though is that what God intended for the person who believed and waited on His promise will still happen for them, but in a better way. If it is marriage, it will still come to pass, but with a better (more cool or hot) spouse. If it's a fellowship and God promised that a great minister would preach there, the truth of the matter is that there is no fail-proof guarantee that that Word will come to pass. Why? Because that minister can choose, by his or her will not to answer the calling. However, what God intended for the fellowship will still happen, but in a more glorious way.
“But Pastor ‘Simeon’ Moses, when God spoke the promise, did He not know ahead of time that someone will say no?”
Well, space and time don't allow me to delve deeper in this matter. But one thing you should know is that God expects you to believe Him paka-last. How another party, who is supposed to be part of the equation, responds is none of your business. Just remember that what God promised you will surely come to pass, though the players might change. I have experiential knowledge in this subject, so take my counsel and be comforted if you needed to be.
I will be honest; several clear and very undeniable promises from God to me are still pending. I know that I have done my part and the rest is up to God or/and the other “pawns” on the playing board. That means that a pawn can disobey God leading to “it did not come to pass.” However, what God intended for me will still happen, only with greater splendour.
That should be your mind-set too concerning some things. Do not forget - God desires that you imitate me, for I qualify (according to Him) to be in the Hebrews 11 Hall of Faith. Hahahaha! Of course I have let down God several times, but that is for another day.
God bless you.
