In 2024, what God desires for our lives should be more important to us than what we want Him to do for us. God desires that this year we carry out all the assignments that He has for us, and that we become more and more like Jesus.
Before each of us were born, God called us for a specific work in the earth. Part of that work is supposed to be accomplished this year. Therefore, let us seek God for what we are supposed to do for Him this year. Whatever He reveals to us, let us be obedient unto Him.
Now, more important than what we are going to do for the Lord in 2024 is growing up in all things into Christ Jesus (Ephesians 4:15). Conforming to Jesus’ image (Romans 8:29) is God’s highest desire for every one of His children. That being the case, we shall bring God great joy in 2024 if we are intentional on becoming like Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3:18 teaches us that by beholding the glory of the Lord, we get transformed into the same glory. One clearly taught way of beholding the glory of the Lord is by studying and meditating in the Word of God because Jesus is the Word of God (Revelation 19:13). Therefore, let us take the reading and studying of the Bible very seriously this year. When we do that, the Spirit of the Lord will progressively transform us into the image of the Son of God, to the great pleasure of our Father.
