It is correctly said that if you want to know what the Bible is all about – which is restoration – you should read its first and last three chapters. In Genesis 1-3, we see the creation of a perfect world, and its ‘fall’ following Man’s giving in to the Devil’s temptation. In Revelation 20-22, we see sinless Man living in the New Earth without sin and the Devil.
But much more than that! In the New Earth of the book of Revelation, we see God dwelling with Man, something much better than when He just used to come down to Adam and Eve in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8).
Right now, those of us who are born again of the Spirit, are journeying towards our final destination – call it Revelation 20-22. We aren’t there yet, but we are close. That means that we are not able to experience the Presence of God as we shall in Revelation 20-22. Yet God’s desire is for us to “taste the powers of the age to come” (Hebrews 6:5). God wants us to experience a measure of His manifest Presence here and now.
The measure of God’s Presence that we are to experience here and now is a personal matter that is determined by how much each person desires it. The God who dearly longs to manifest Himself will only do so to every person in accordance with how much he or she desires to experience Him.
God is calling every one of us to seek, thirst, and long after Him (Psalm 63:1). Let us always remember, “draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). The temporal and eternal benefits of experiencing the Presence of God are of a class ‘outside this world’.
God bless you.
