By Faith we are Anchored in The Heavenly Sanctuary: We aspire to be anchored in the heavenly Sanctuary: Confident and expectant because God made an Oath; Anchored unshakable, reliable and spiritually secure; Jesus gave us direct access through him to the Holy of Holies; Jesus went ahead and guaranteed us a place in eternal destiny; Jesus is ensuring eternal intercession for us
A call to believers to yield fully to God, live in obedience, and walk in humility.
- SUBMIT: To yield willingly to God’s authority and order.
- James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
- Romans 12:1 — “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
- Hebrews 13:17 — “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority…”
- Worldly Submission:
- Materialism & Consumerism (Wealth, possession and Status)
- Tech & Social-Media (distraction & Time consuming)
- Entertainment & Pleasure (Music, Movies, gaming & nightlife)
- Work & career ambitions (Career your only goal)
- Human approval (validation from People)
- Self reliance and Pride (Own Strength)
- Politics & Ideologies (Trusting Human systems)
- Godly Submission:
- Men and women in business or corporate world choosing integrity over corruption, even when bribery could fast-track business deals.
- A husband submitting to God’s Word by leading his family in prayer, even when work pressures are heavy.
- An employee submitting to company policies and respecting authority, even when it feels inconvenient.
Submission today means aligning your decisions with God’s standards, not just personal ambition.
Submission is not weakness; it is strength under God’s control.
- SERVE: To actively demonstrate love through action, humility, and sacrifice.
- Mark 10:45 — “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
- Galatians 5:13 — “Serve one another humbly in love.”
- John 13:14-15 — Jesus washing the disciples’ feet as a model of servant leadership.
True greatness in the Kingdom is measured by service, not status.
- Serving the world:
- Not valuing others above yourself (disregarding how success can bless others)
- Neglecting the needy
- Pride and status Seeking (1 Peter 4:10 ... use whatever gift you have received to support others)
- Indifferent to others burdens (its not my problem approach)
- Selective service (serving only those who can pay us)
- Serving God:
- A manager mentoring junior staff instead of exploiting them for personal gain.
- A businessman using part of his profits to sponsor education for underprivileged children.
- A father serving his household by helping with chores, showing that leadership is not domination but care.
Service in modern life is about humility—using your position to uplift others.
- SURRENDER: To release control and trust God fully with your life.
- Luke 22:42 — “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
- Matthew 16:24 — “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
- Psalm 37:5 — “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”
- Surrendering to worldly Standard:
- Clinging to Personal Control (decision with no prayer with human wisdom. Refusing God to direct your path)
- Unwillingness to forgive (Grudges with colleagues, family & friends, no surrender with bitterness to God.)
- Attachment to material wealth (status and Possession over obedience to God)
- Selective obedience to God (obeying areas which are convenient. Ignoring those which are uncomfortable (Purity, Generosity, humility)
- Resistance to sacrifice (You can’t deny yourself Mat 6:24 Refusing to get rid of sinful habits (Unhealthy relationships, personal ambitions that conflict with Gods plans.)
- Surrendering to God is the highest form of worship—it is saying “Yes” to God’s will even when it costs us.
- A professional surrendering career plans to God, trusting Him when a promotion doesn’t come.
- A young man surrendering unhealthy relationships, choosing purity and godly companionship.
- A family surrendering financial worries by tithing faithfully, even when expenses are tight.
Surrender means letting go of control and trusting God’s timing and wisdom.
Conclusion
- Submit your ambitions to God’s authority.
- Serve others with humility and love.
- Surrender your will to His perfect plan.
This is the pathway to true discipleship, leadership, and Kingdom impact in modern society.
Mr. Edward Muwanga Barlow.
