The Bible is God speaking to me. So said the great Kenneth E. Hagin on numerous occasions. In reading my Bible, I can attest that God surely speaks through it; and it was as I read that He told me, "Tell them that I will keep every promise I made to them."
I pen Pastor Moses' Word for the Week on Mondays. On Sunday night, I felt that I should write about the faithfulness of God - that He keeps His promises. When I awoke on Monday morning, I delved into Lamentations chapters 1 to 4, and Joshua chapters 17 to 24. Those were my predetermined readings for that day in my quest to again go through the entire Bible within four months.
Because the day before I felt I needed to write about God's faithfulness, I was awestruck when on Monday I read these words of Jeremiah: "The Lord has done what He purposed; He has fulfilled His word which He commanded in days of old" (Lamentations 2:17).
Things only got more interesting when in Joshua, I came across these passages:
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. (Joshua 21:43-45).
. . . not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed. (Joshua 23:14).
Please understand me. I went to bed on Sunday with the unction to write the next day on God's faithfulness to all His promises. Then when I woke up, 'coincidentally' God had me read Lamentations 2:17 , Joshua 21:43-45 and Joshua 23:14. All those Scriptures communicate the very same thing: God remembers everything He ever promised you, and He will most assuredly bring it to pass. Hallelujah.
I am not wrong on this: we all love being spoken to by God in spectacular ways, either in dreams, visions, audible voices, or by the mouth of great prophets like Elvis Mbonye, Paul Jaiser, Michael Kiganda or Alpha Munyantwari. Yet sometimes we ignore His communications that are just as supernatural, though not spectacular by our standards. As I was reading the Bible, God spoke to me for your sake, though not in a spectacular manner. But from the chronology of events as described above, you realize that God was supernaturally delivering just one simple yet profound message to you through me. He told me to tell you, "Be strong and of good courage. You will see come to pass every word that has proceeded from My mouth. For I watch over My word to perform and fulfill it." Amen.
God bless you.
