Last Sunday, while our Juliana Nantaba closed the service (which she had also led so wonderfully), and at the same time powerfully led the closing song, I couldn’t but be amazed at how multi-gifted by God she is! And yet she was not keeping her gifts to herself, but was also using them to bless the people of God. At that moment, I thought about reminding us that when the Lord blesses us in this season as He has already promised, we should not forget to bless others with those same blessings (gifts), if they are sharable. God oftentimes blesses us so that we might also be a blessing.
In Ephesians 4:28, Paul, by the Spirit of God, said, “Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.” Although we are not thieves, we should still learn something from this admonition. Whenever we get increase of let us say finances, we should never expend all of it on ourselves; we should be a blessing by sharing that increase with other people.
When we do share, three things happen. First, people are blessed. Second, God is praised by the receiver. Third, we are prayed for by the receiver. That is why it is written that, “For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you” (2 Corinthians 9:12-14).
Therefore, get ready to be a blessing, because that is one of the reasons why God is going to bless you. Whatever He blesses you with, if in any way it can be of benefit to other people, then let it be. In fact, that is one sure way of keeping the blessings coming. As it is written, “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself,” (Proverbs 11:25), and, “God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work,” (2 Corinthians 9:7, 8).
God bless you.
