Just as we noted last week, many of us are going to do some fighting within the Promised Land in which we already are. When Israel entered into her Promised Land, she had to fight the inhabitants therein in order to possess what God had given her. So shall it be with us in this season. Thankfully we are not alone; Jesus, the Commander of the LORD’s armies, is with us to lead us into victory. Hallelujah!
The fighting that we are going to do in the Promised Land should be considered a good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). It is a good fight because the victory of possessing what is already ours is sure. The victory is assured because the same Commander of the armies of the LORD – Jesus Christ – is with us.
The Bible says that, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal” (2 Corinthians 10:4) – they are spiritual, since we are fighting a spiritual fight. The key spiritual weapon that our Commander is emphasizing in this season that we should use in the fight is “The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17). We are going to fight by applying our mouths to speak what God has said, instead of what we see. That is how the good fight of faith is fought. You see, faith speaks the word of God. Faith confesses the truth just as God has revealed it. Any other speaking is unbelief and doubt, and it does not win spiritual battles.
The Bible says that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21). The Bible also says that, “A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth” (Proverbs 12:14). Therefore, in order for us to eat and be satisfied with the fruit of our Promised Land, we are going to have to speak what God has said, instead of what we are seeing. “We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen,” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Let us be like our father of faith Abraham, “Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations . . . not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform” (Romans 4:18-21).
God bless you.
