After we prayed last Thursday and it was time for testimonies, Teddy Kobusinge had this to say (paraphrased): “While coming for prayers today, I said to myself, ‘no matter what the prayer points will be, I am going to count and thank God for my blessings.’ I was therefore more than thrilled when we were told that the main prayer point was going to be thanking God for the many things He has done for us.”  Hallelujah!

The Psalmist sang to God and said that, “You are good, and do good” (Psalm 119:68). Goodness is God’s nature; therefore God cannot but do good. That means that for each one of us, God has done innumerable good things. As it is written, “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which you have done; And Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I were to declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered” (Psalm 40:5). We should therefore pause for a moment, (stop thinking of what we do not have but want), and thank God for His many wonderful works toward us.

I am now in my forties, and therefore have many things to thank God for. However, in my opinion some of those things trump others, and those things took a major portion of my thanksgiving on Thursday. For example, I thanked God that: 1) I married a wonderful woman – Geraldine – who brings me great delight, 2) He miraculously gave my sweethearts (daughters) American citizenship, 3) We have a beautiful home in a good neighborhood – Nsasa Kira, 4) By my dream and that of Dennis Mugimba He promised on 12th May 2022 that He was going to give us a second house in Lubowa, 5) In September 2022 He revealed by a dream He gave Dennis Mugimba that I had completed all that he had assigned me in LAT up until that time, (hence my earlier dream of being invited to be Apostle John Mulinde’s best man, and later finding myself working in his office), 6) By His grace and enablement I was able to accomplish those assignments.

Now, although last week’s prayer meeting when I thanked God for many things He has done for me over the years passed, I still have the desire to thank God again – and I actually do so – for what I thanked Him for on Thursday. I therefore encourage you also to thank God for all His goodness toward you. And when you have finished thanking Him, thank Him again. God is good, and He surely has been so good to you. He deserves to be acknowledged as a good Father who does good to His children. Recount to Him His blessings upon your life one by one. He will love it.

God bless you.
